A group of 22 compassionate students at Msgr. Gadoury School recently learned about the plight of homeless animals by participating in a before-school service club dedicated to assisting abandoned companion animals at the Burrillville Animal Shelter and Woonsocket Cat Sanctuary.
The students, ages five through nine, attended the Mission Humane Program, a four week long activity club that met for a half hour before school on Tuesday mornings.
“This was a marvelous club,” said Michelle Losardo, a Pre-K teacher at the school and club leader. “I can’t say enough about it.” She added that the youthful participants were eager to give up their recess time to work on the project, and that many other students often “popped in” to share their friends’ enthusiasm and stories about treasured family pets.

I love this quote from the article: “The biggest lesson is that even though they are young, they still have the ability to serve." See kids? By contributing just half an hour a day, you can help save animals! So can all you fuddy-duddy adults, too.
Seriously, never lose faith in your ability to contribute good things to the world, no matter how young or old you are.
