I’m posting this at 3:30 AM on Wednesday, with just 16 hours left until the Orangutan Outreach Benefit Concert starts.
I finally finished all the signs and donation collectors, or “donation stations,” as I christened them. I tried to make this event as environmentally friendly as possible and used recycled materials for as many things as possible.

Here I am, holding the completed recycled-grocery bag banner, which thanks the sponsors of the Orangutan Outreach Benefit Concert: Oz Music and Manna Grocery & Deli, both of Tuscaloosa, AL. I made the sign out of used Target plastic grocery sacks by fusing them together with an iron. To learn how to fuse your own plastic bags into a versatile, tarp-like material, visit this link: http://etsylabs.blogspot.com/2007/05/long-overdue-fusing-plastic-bag.html

I also made some recycled cardboard signs (decorated with fabric paint and permanent marker) promoting our sponsors and Orangutan Outreach (www.redapes.org). They may not be beautiful, but they are sustainable!
I’ll post more photos later. Right now I have to get some beauty sleep and prepare for the show tomorrow. I hope I see you there!
