Baby colobus monkey steps out at Denver Zoo

by Lauren on October 31, 2008

A baby colobus monkey named Darby was born at the Denver Zoo on Oct. 15 and can now be seen, weather permitting, with the rest of its troop in the Primate Panorama at the zoo.

Darby, like all colobus monkey infants, is all white — in contrast to the adults, which are mostly black with a white face border, white veiling flanks and a bushy white tail.

Darby’s parents are Sadie and Ray.
