Everybody is looking for ways to cut corners these days. The country's economic woes are hitting us all in the pocketbook, and a trip to the grocery store seems to get more painful every week. We are all looking for less expensive alternatives to our daily staples. For you and me, this typically means trying the store brands and perhaps a few less treats for ourselves and the kids. Not a big deal -- we don't need those Oreos anyway!
It can be a very different story if you are bargain hunting for your pet food. Keep in mind that, while people eat a variety of food throughout the day, your dog or cat probably eats the same dry or canned food once a day, every day. He has no alternative source of nutrients, so if you scrimp on his food, it may adversely affect his health.
