Summertime hasn't been the same for Roy Price since the 2007 invasion.
The aggravating dirt mounds that mysteriously piled up at his Upper Macungie Township property were the first hints of trouble. Then came the onslaught of frightening large-winged killers dive-bombing his property and turning his lawn into a birthing suite for bugs.
Price, 55, unwittingly became host to a swarm of squatters known as Eastern cicada killers, super-sized wasps that show up annually to mate, lay eggs and prey on cicadas. Price may have them as long as he lives on Cherry Tree Crossing in the Green Acres community. Once they show up, they're nearly impossible to eradicate.
