In preparation for Tropical Storm Gustav, the city of New Orleans has already begun evacuating animals from its shelters and sending them to shelters in nearby communities.
Additionally, New Orleans’ Mayor Ray Nagin has said that pet owners will have access to cages and carriers for their pets to expedite the evacuation all the non-human members of the family.
