Several months ago, Judy Sharp found a dog on the side of the road, named her Ella, and brought her to my dad’s veterinary office. You might recall seeing Ella before on Kitty Mowmow’s Animal Expo, in this post or this post.
Ella was born only half of her lower jaw, so her tongue sticks out all the time. But she is such a good doggy! In the picture above, she can barely contain her excitement at being petted and loved, so she is wiggling all over and turning the photo all blurry.
By the way, I’m very proud of my dad, Dr. Ron Schindler, for characteristically granting to Ella free room, board, and veterinary care.
Judy and dad have been trying to find a home for Ella, but with no luck. Finally, they decided to turn to Best Friends Animal Society for help, and asked if the shelter would accept her. Best Friends graciously decided to take care of Ella. Now Judy, Dad, Jim Turner (Jim is the acting director of Baldwin Animal Rescue Center, or BARC) and the rest of BARC are trying to raise money to transport Ella from Fairhope, AL, to the shelter in Angel Canyon, Utah.
Judy will either fly with or drive with Ella to Utah. I’m sure you can imagine how much this will cost in gas, plane tickets, and possibly hotel rooms. Would you like to help cover the costs to help Ella reach her new home?
If you do, please send a check written out to Baldwin Animal Rescue Center (BARC) with an explanation that your donation is specifically for Ella’s transportation.
