Ann Crocker, Mackensie Hamshere and Andrew Wells showed how much they love animals Wednesday.
The trio of friends, who all say they want to be veterinarians, donated more than $110 and a pet carrier full of food and toys to the Bay of Islands Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
It took the group several months to gather up the donations, but it was important to each of them that they take care of the animals at the SPCA.
Ann, 9, Mackensie, 10, and Andrew, 10, saved their allowance, used money from birthdays and special occasions and solicited donations from friends and family to meet their goal.
Ann said it was a pleasure to help the SPCA and the animals.
