We’ve all heard about the damage chimpanzees can inflict even when they’re not armed. Japanese zookeepers almost allowed us to see what the primates can do when packing heat.

Ichiro the chimp, 42, recently escaped from his cage at the Ishikawa Zoo and snatched a tranquilizer rifle from a zoo employee.

After fleeing his accidentally unlocked enclosure, Ichiro climbed onto the roof of a zoo building in what is thought to be an attempt to cool himself. The primate proved he was as wise as his years, eluding those trying to get him down, and grabbing away one of the workers’ tranquilizer guns. The chimp was eventually captured after being offered a banana.

Coincidentally, the incident is rumored to be remarkably similar to the alternate ending to the first Rambo movie.
