Members of the Washington Animal Rescue League helped rescue pets left homeless by flooding in Iowa and brought them back to D.C. for adoption.
Nineteen cats and nine dogs were brought to the northwest Washington shelter from Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Some were being housed at a shelter before the flooding began, and others were given up by people who could no longer care for them.
