The emperor penguin will march toward drastic decline if the brakes are not put on climate change, wildlife advocates announced at the United Nations conference on the topic in Bali yesterday.
Melting sea ice and a shrinking food supply are already threatening the four penguin species that live entirely on the Antarctic continent – including the celebrated star of the Academy Award-winning documentary March of the Penguins – the World Wildlife Fund's study reveals.
"This is happening before our very eyes because of the fossil fuel pollution we're pumping into the air," said WWF Canada's Julia Langer yesterday.
