Since I rarely watch TV, this is the first I've heard of the series.
The documentary is not for the squeamish. It includes graphic film footage, much of it shot with hidden cameras, of animals being tortured and killed. And some of the language is pretty rough, too, particularly when Newkirk calmly reads aloud from some of the barely literate hate mail that she receives nearly every day....
...Wayne Pacelle, head of the Humane Society of the United States, is not a big fan of PETA, claiming that its narrow focus on stunts and shock tactics does little or nothing to help the cause of animals. “[It] retards our progress [and] it’s tactically idiotic,” he says.
